The Governing Council consists of representatives of IMTMA, CII, private Industries and Govt. organizations such as Planning Commission, Department of Science & Technology etc. The consultation is through their representative of the respective member organizations in the related subject of discussions.

The Governing Council (GC in short) is constituted by the Government of India and the members are drawn from the above bodies apart from representatives from DIPP-MOC&I, Director & Financial Advisor of the Institute.
